Welcome to the website of Handballclub KRAS/Volendam!
HV KRAS/Volendam was founded in 1963 and is located in the municipality Edam/Volendam in the Netherlands. Volendam is located at a mere 25 kilometers from the countries capital Amsterdam.
The village of Volendam has been able to become one of the most famous Dutch one-day trips due to the excellent hotels and beautiful authentic fishing harbor. Nationally, Volendam is recognized as a special hub of Dutch talent specifically musical talent (Jan Smit, Nick en Simon, BZN etc.) and physical talent (FC Volendam, St Mauritius, ZVV Volendam etc.) .
Volendam is traditionally a sportsminded village in which football is the biggest and most popular sport. Handball is a very important and growing sport in the reigion and the club is considered to be an excellent ambassader of the village and topsport. Since the year 2000 HV KRAS/Volendam has been playing in the highest competition level in the Netherlands, called the “AfAB Eredivisie”.
HV KRAS/Volendam celebrated her European competition debut in 2002 in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League. In the following years we have been a regular name in the first rounds of the EHF Cup Winners Cup, EHF-cup and Champions League.
This year the club is proud to acknowlegde a record 460+ handball members playing at various levels throughout the entire club.
The club is also very proud of all of her sponsors and businessclub. With special acknowledgements to two of the largest sponsors KRAS Recycling BV (Recycling and Wastemanagement industry; also club name sponsor) and Succes Schoonmaak BV (Cleaning Industry; also shirt sponsor).
